Adam Sutcliffe is Reader in European History, Department of History at King's College London. He is the author of Judaism and Enlightenment (Cambridge, 2003), and the co-editor of Renewing the Past, Reconfiguring Jewish Culture: From a-Andalus to the Haskalah (with Ross Brann, 2004) and of Philosemitism in History (with Jonathan Karp, Cambridge, 2011). He has published numerous articles and essays on various aspects of early modern Jewish history and intellectual history, particularly on the place of Jewish themes and issues in European thought from the late seventeenth to the early nineteenth centuries.
