With a high diversity of vegetation in Iran, over 8000 plant species are in existence. More than 2300 species of these plants have medicinal, edible and industrial properties, and more than 1700 species of them are endemic. Reza Eddin Owfi is a Ph.D. candidate in Rangeland Management in Gorgan Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources University, Iran. Since 2002, he has been focused in Indigenous knowledge, saline soils vegetation, halophyte, xerophyte and medicinal plants. He has been involved in national research projects and published related papers and books.
