Couverture de l’ouvrage Recent Advances in Emerging Membrane Science and Technology

Recent Advances in Emerging Membrane Science and Technology: Principles and Applications of Membrane Processes provides an overview of membrane-based processes for industrial applications with special reference to separation, water desalination/purification and membrane-based energy devices. The book provides a brief history of membranes and explains the preparation, characterization, modification and applications of these important membranes.

This book proves a valuable resource for researchers in academia and industry, and engineers in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, biotechnology, technical chemistry, chemical technology and biotechnology working with advanced membrane-based techniques and membrane forming materials.

  • Serves as a single source of information covering advanced techniques and troubleshooting of membrane-based processes
  • Features recent findings in membrane-based technology, including fuel cells, reverse electrodialysis and batteries
  • Discusses the development of future applications, including gas separation membranes
  • Includes a brief history of membranes and explains the associated preparation, characterization, modification and applications

Dr. Vaibhav Kulshrestha obtained his PhD in chemistry from the Rajasthan University in India. He worked with the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Systems, Magdeburg, Germany. He has been awarded by the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy. He has over ten years of research experience in pressure-driven membrane processes. His research currently focuses on functional materials/membranes and membrane-based separation processes. Dr. Kulshrestha has published more than 35 research papers in international scientific journals.
Dr. Vinod Kumar Shahi obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the Gorakhpur University in India. He’s worked with the Institut für Oberflachenmodifizierung (IOM) in Leipzig, Germany, Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, USA, and the University of Science and Technology in Hefei, China. His research currently focuses on functional materials/membranes and metal nanoparticles-polymers for sensors, membranes-based separation processes, and fuel cell applications. Dr. Shahi has published more than 95 research papers and reviews in international scientific journals. He’s contributed to four books, and he has six patents to his credit.
Ravi P. Pandey is a researcher in the Electro-Membrane Processes Division of the CSIR-Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India
