Fredholm and Local Spectral Theory II , 1st ed. 2018 With Application to Weyl-type Theorems Lecture Notes in Mathematics Series, Vol. 2235

Couverture de l’ouvrage Fredholm and Local Spectral Theory II

This monograph concerns the relationship between the local spectral theory and Fredholm theory of bounded linear operators acting on Banach spaces. The purpose of this book is to provide a first general treatment of the theory of operators for which Weyl-type or Browder-type theorems hold.

The product of intensive research carried out over the last ten years, this book explores for the first time in a monograph form, results that were only previously available in journal papers.

Written in a simple style, with sections and chapters following an easy, natural flow, it will be an invaluable resource for researchers in Operator Theory and Functional Analysis. The reader is assumed to be familiar with the basic notions of linear algebra, functional analysis and complex analysis.

- Fredholm Theory. - Local Spectral Theory. - Essential Spectra Under Perturbations. - Polaroid-Type Operators. - Browder-Type Theorems. - Weyl-Type Theorems.

The author, Pietro Aiena, is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Palermo and a well-known authority on Operator Theory.

He has published a number of papers over the years in journals of repute. A very high proportion of his published work in local spectral theory and Fredholm theory is held in high regard by his peers.

Presents core material in spectral theory alongside several advanced topics

The first book entirely dedicated to the relationship between the various parts of the spectrum

Self-contained collection of the most recent research on the topic
