Nobuaki Hamaguchi is a professor at the Research Institute for Economics and Business Administration of Kobe University. He holds Ph.D. degree in Regional Science from the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests are in Latin American economy, economic integration in Asia-Pacific, and regional economic/industrial policies in Japan. He was a former president of Japan Society of Social Science on Latin America. As a program director and a faculty fellow of Japan’s Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI), he organizes a research project on Japan’s regional economies.
Alan Bojanic, national of Bolivia, holds a Degree in Agricultural Engineering from the René Moreno University, a Diploma in Agricultural Economics, University of Reading and M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics, University of London. He has a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics, University of Utrecht and M.Sc. in Political Sciences, University of Costa Rica. From 1981-1990 he worked as Agricultural Economics Programme Officer, Deputy Director and Technical Director at the CIAT. From 1990-1993 he was Secretary of Environment of Bolivia. From 1995-1997, UNDP Adviser on Sustainable Development. In 2004, he was Executive Director of the National Service of Animal and Plant Health. He
