Dental Stem Cells: Regenerative Potential, Softcover reprint of the original 1st ed. 2016 Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine Series

Langue : Anglais

Coordonnateurs : Zavan Barbara, Bressan Eriberto

Couverture de l’ouvrage Dental Stem Cells: Regenerative Potential
This book focuses on the basic aspects of dental stem cells (DSCs) as well as their clinical applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. It opens with a discussion of classification, protocols, and properties of DSCs and proceeds to explore DSCs within the contexts of cryopreservation; epigenetics; pulp, periodontal, tooth, bone, and corneal stroma regeneration; neuronal properties, mesenchymal stem cells and biomaterials; and as sources of hepatocytes for liver disease treatment. The fifteen expertly authored chapters comprehensively examine possible applications of DSCs and provide invaluable insights into mechanisms of growth and differentiation.

Dental Stem Cells: Regenerative Potential draws from a wealth of international perspectives and is an essential addition to the developing literature on dental stem cells. This installment of Springer?s Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine series is indispensable for biomedical researchers interestedin bioengineering, dentistry, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, cell biology and oncology.

Professor Eriberto Bressan

Dr. Bressan is an Associate Professor at the University Of Padova Department Of Neuroscience in Padova, Italy, where he earned his PhD in molecular biology and biotechnologies with a specialization in orthodontics. He is also  Director of the School of Dentistry and of the advanced program in osseointegrated implantology. Additionally, he holds the title of Scientific Head of the University’s specialization program in computer-guided implant surgery.

Apart from his work with the University, Dr. Bressan is a Founding Member of the Italian chapter of the Academy of Osseointegration. He has presented at conferences worldwide and has authored numerous publications in international research journals.

Professor Barbara Zavan

Dr. Zavan is an Associate Professor at the University Of Padova Department Of Biomedical Sciences in Padova, Italy, where she also earned her PhD in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. She heads the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. Additionally, Dr. Zavan belongs to several scientific societies including the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS) and the American Nano Society, and has authored several publications in international research journals.

Dr. Zavan’s research seeks to understand the impact of stem cell activity on tissue homeostasis and repair as well as the role of systemic molecules or surfaced modification in the regulation of regenerative potential.
Covers an exciting area of research - the potential use of stem cells in tissue regeneration Fills a gap in the literature; there are very few books on dental stem cells and tooth and bone regeneration Written broadly to appeal to a wide audience of basic science and clinical researchers in cellular and regenerative medicine and biomedical researchers interested in bio- and tissue- engineering Includes supplementary material: sn.pub/extras
