This publication deals with the experimental results of the research project conducted between October 1991 and September 1996 (papers in English with summaries in French and English). The objective was aimed at checking the best conditions for the treatment of fibrous feeds with urea as the source of ammonia and studying the possibility of upgrading the nutritive value of untreated fibrous feeds simply by tacking advantage of the associative effect with the proper source of nitrogen.
