Predicting field performance in crop protection (BCPC proceedings 74)

This international conference, the third in the series, highlights the technical and commercial importance attached to the correct appraisal of early field performance of product candidates and many of the central themes of previous meetings are revisited and reworked in the light of recent research. Although the crop protection business is still dominated by the use of synthetic products, the conference strongly acknowledges and welcomes the rapidly growing biotechnology and biocontrol sectors. These introduce additional complexity to strategic pest control particularly in integrated systems where new products will have to work in partnership with the best of all crop protection techniques.
