Gazi Huri, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Ankara, Turkey. He completed a Residency in the department in 2008 and between 2012 and 2014 undertook a Clinical Research Fellowship at the Division of Sport Medicine, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD, USA. Dr. Huri is Turkey’s representative on the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EBOT) and a past president of the Federation of Orthopaedic Trainees in Europe (FORTE). He holds several patents, including one for a “bone plate” that won the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA) Award for Best Academic Invention as well as the ISIF'16 Gold Medal – Best Patent Award. He is the author of 36 articles in peer-reviewed international journals as well as many in national journals.
Filippo Familiari, MD, works in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Villa del Sole Clinic of Catanzaro which is affiliated to the Magna Grecia Unoversity of Catanzaro, Italy, having previously completed a period as a Research Fellow and Clinical Intern at the Division of Shoulder Surgery (Prof. Edward G. McFarland) of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (Baltimore, Maryland, USA), a fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Division of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (Prof. Christian Gerber) of the Universitätsklinik Balgrist (Zurich, Switzerland), and an ISAKOS Teaching Center Scholarship at the Division of Complex Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine (Dr. Robert F. LaPrade) of The Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute (Vail, Colorado, USA).
