Digital Breast tomosynthesis has entered the standard of care in both screening and diagnostic breast imaging. It allows the breast to be viewed in three dimensions decreasing significantly the effect of overlapping tissue. It has been shown to decrease the recall rate as well as improving breast cancer detection racte in screening. It has also become a problem solving tool in diagnostic breast imaging.
