Couverture de l’ouvrage EEG-Based Brain-Computer Interfaces

EEG-Based Brain-Computer Interface: Cognitive Analysis and Control Applications provides a technical approach to using brain signals for control applications, along with the EEG-related advances in BCI. The research and techniques in this book discuss time and frequency domain analysis on deliberate eye-blinking data as the basis for EEG-triggering control applications. In addition, the book provides experimental scenarios and features algorithms for acquiring real-time EEG signals using commercially available units that interface with MATLAB software for acquisition and control.

Researchers working in the field of development of BCIs using biomedical signal processing
Dr. Dipali Bansal is the Dean of Engineering at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, India. She is part of a curiosity-driven research group working in the field of bio-signal processing that brings together experimental and theoretical techniques and approaches in acquiring and analyzing human physiological parameters, namely ECG, EMG, EEG signals, using professional tools like MATLAB and LabVIEW. She got her Bachelor’s degree from BIT Sindri and obtained a PhD in Bio-signal Processing from Jamia Millia Islamia Central University, New Delhi, India. In more than two decades of her professional career, she has honed her skills as an academician, a researcher, and also as an administrator.
Dr. Rashima possesses 14 years of strong professional record in teaching/research at institutes of high repute including Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, GD Goenka University Gurgaon and dedicated research centre like National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) Manesar, India. She did her Masters and Bachelors in Electronics & Communication Engineering. During her PhD work, she has worked in the field of bio-signal processing by acquiring and analyzing human cardiac (ECG) and neural (EEG) responses. Her research interests include biomedical signal processing especially brain mapping via EEG/MRI and Image processing towards development of automated diagnostic tools using MATLAB/Python as signal processing tools. She has published and contributed more than 35 quality publications in International refereed journals, conferences and as book chapters.
  • Details techniques for multiple types of analysis (including ERP, scalp map, sub-band power and independent component) to acquire data from deliberate eye-blinking
  • Demonstrates how to use EEGs to develop more intuitive BCIs in real-time scenarios
  • Includes algorithms and scenarios that interface with MATLAB software for interactive use
