This issue of the Heart Failure Clinics of North America, guest edited by Drs. Daniel Lenihan and Douglas Sawyer, will cover several aspects of Cardio-oncology Related to Heart Failure. Douglas B. Sawyer specializes in basic and translational research and is focused on mechanisms by which the heart maintains cardiac function and recovers after injury. Formerly Chief of Cardiology at Vanderbilt University, USA, Dr Sawyer has more recently taken up a position at Maine Medical Center, where he is Chief of Cardiac Services and Physician Leader of the Cardiovascular Service Line. His clinical interests include Cardiovascular Disease, Heart Failure, Clinical and Translational Research. Dr Sawyer is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, was elected to the Association of University Cardiologists in 2011 and also elected to American Society for Clinical Investigation.
