Atlas of Radiology in Head and Neck Trauma, 1st ed. 2019

Langue : Anglais

Coordonnateur : Perry Michael

This book will demonstrate current radiological techniques and an approach to their interpretation, in the assessment and management of patients presenting injuries above the collar bone.

This anatomical region is taken as a whole because trauma to the head commonly involves sites managed by different specialties, such as facial, ocular, head and cervical spine.

The entire "radiological package" for trauma to the head is therefore available in this one comprehensive and highly illustrated reference manual, avoiding the need to refer to multiple sources.

The key features of each main section, comprising the Face, Brain, Orbit and Eye, Upper Airway and so on, will include the identification and interpretation of symptoms and clinical signs as well as the mechanism of injury, as useful "clues" to the presence of injuries, which may not be obvious. The text will contain more clinical relevance to surgeons and radiologists alike, facilitating mutual understanding of the respective specialties.

The aim of this book is to enable the reader to understand how and why any particular image or radiological intervention is undertaken.

Section 1. Head: Skull and Brain.- Section 2. The Face.- Section 3. The Eye.- Section 4. Back of the Neck and Cervical Spine.- Section 5. The Front of the Neck: Upper Airway and Oesophageal.- Section 6. The Side of the Neck: Vascular and Brachial Plexus.
