Professor Sanna is Founder and Director of the Gruppo Otologico (Piacenza-Rome, Italy), an internationally acclaimed center for otology, hearing implantology and skull base surgeries. Over 200 fellows and 1000 observers have been trained at the Gruppo Otologico. Known across the world for his pioneering work in Otology and Skull Base Surgery, Professor Sanna is a founding member of the European Skull Base Society, the Italian Skull Base Society, and an honorary member of the French and Spanish Otolaryngological Societies. He has authored 15 books and over 375 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has been invited faculty in over 400 conferences and academic meetings.
Dr. Piras graduated in Medicine and specialized in Otolaryngology and Neck Surgery at the University of Bologna, where he also worked as a researcher at the C.R.B.A. (Applied Biomedical Research Centre). He has been affiliated with the Otologico Group since 2015 and has presented at over 25 scientific conferences. He is the author of 2 book chapters and co-author of two books. He is also instructor during courses organized at the Gruppo Otologico.
Dr. Taibah graduated in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery from the University of Parma in the year 1982 and Neurosurgery from the University of Modena in 1986. He has been a Consultant in practice for the last 31 years. He has over 150 publications in peer reviewed journals and has co-authored 10 books. He has been an invited faculty and delivered guest lectures in over 100 conferences/workshops.
Dr. Russo graduated in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery from the University of Parma in 1986. She has been a Consultant at the Gruppo Otologico for 28 years, with over 125 publications in peer-reviewed journals and co-author of 10 books. Se has been an invited faculty and delivered guest lectures in over 80 conferences/workshops. Dr. Russo has an additional expertise in auricular reconstruction and works with a team comprising of Dr. Laurenzo Lauda. She
