Couverture de l’ouvrage Internet commerce, metrics and models in the new era of accountability

A simple, complete framework for making intelligent e-Commerce decisions -- needed now more than ever!

  • Key business model "building blocks" that comprise every e-Commerce venture.
  • Metrics for evaluating the consequences of any e-Commerce strategy and decision.
  • Includes a start-to-finish e-Commerce case study.
This book gives e-Commerce entrepreneurs and decision-makers a comprehensive, up-to-date framework for understanding Internet business models -- and a complete set of metrics for evaluating them. Sridhar Jagannathan identifies "atomic" business models that serve as "building blocks" for constructing, understanding, and analyzing complex e-business environments. Jagannathans five-stack model consists of four horizontal stacks -- platform, content, community and commerce -- combined with a vertical "services" stack that provides value to each horizontal stack. Using this framework, Jagannathan constructs a complete business model for an e-Commerce store, analyzing the economic consequences of key management choices, and providing detailed metrics executives can use in analyzing the consequences of their own decisions. For all e-Commerce entrepreneurs, corporate managers, financial professionals, and consultants.

Sri Jagmannathan is Chief Technology Officer, Executive Vice President, and Co-Founder of Adatom.com. He previously served as Technical Director for Oracles Internet and eCommerce Practice, Advanced Technology Solutions Group, where he was responsible for e-Commerce strategy, and for creating and deploying B2B e-Commerce solutions with Oracle and third-party products. He holds an MBA from Stanford Universitys Graduate School of Business, as well as a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Jay Srinivasan is a B2B e-Commerce consultant. He was previously Senior Consultant with KPMG and is affiliated with the MIT Entrepreneurship Forum.
