Computational Visual Perception for Image and Video Processing

Langue : Anglais

Auteur :

Computational Visual Perception for Image and Video Processing provides a comprehensive introduction to Human Visual System (HVS)-based approaches for image and video analysis and processing. In a concise and practical way, the most relevant characteristics and properties of HVS are presented. The book teaches basic notions on the Human Visual System (HVS), helping readers gain an introduction to HVS-inspired image analysis and processing, image quality assessment methods, selected applications of HVS-inspired multimedia processing, and key trends and future research challenges in the area.

  • Bridges the gap between research on visual perception and multimedia processing
  • Provides a complete overview of the academic and industrial research on visual information processing and communication
  • Offers new ideas and practical approaches for solving real-world problems

1. Basic notions on the Human Visual System 2. Fundamentals of HVS-inspired image analysis and processing 3. Image quality Assessment 4. Selected HVS-inspired methods for image processing 5. New trends and challenges
