Couverture de l’ouvrage Industrial Solid Waste Recycling in Western China

This book introduces the latest results in research and practice of industrial solid waste recycling in China's western regions, where more than 50% of the waste in the whole country was produced. With rapid development in recent years, the massive industrial solid waste has become a serious problem in China. This book summarizes information and results of several National Research Programs of China concerning the typical solid wastes of the metallurgical and energy industry in western China, such as magnesium slag, manganese slag, acid sludge of lead and zinc smelting, fly ash, steel slag and carbide slag. It will be highly beneficial to scholars and engineers of environmental science and engineering.

Introduction.- Recycling of magnesium slag.- Recycling of electrolytic manganese slag.- Recycling of acid sludge in lead and zinc metallurgy.- Utilization of fly ash.- Indeterminate.

Prof. Fenglan Han is deputy director of the Circular Economy Technology Institute at the Beifang University of Nationalities (BUN), Yinchuan, China. She is the head of the International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Base of Industrial Waste Recycling and Advanced Materials, China. She earned her BSc. (1986) in Chemistry at Sichuan University, China. She is devoted  to the treatment and recycling of industrial solid waste and has written more than 50 technical papers and 8 authorized patents. She was presiding the National Projects of magnesium slag (2009) and fly ash (2014). She was honored the Awards of Ningxia Science and Technology in 2006.

Prof. Lan'er Wu is a senior professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the Beifang University of Nationalities (BUN), Yinchuan, China. She was the head of the Key Laboratory of Powders and Advanced Ceramics, Ningxia, China. She has been devoted to solid waste management and environmental science over 10 years and has written more than 30 technical papers and has 6 authorized patents in the field. She was honored the Awards of Ningxia Science & Technology in 1986 and 2006, the Award of Special Allowance Experts of the State in 2004, and the Award of Outstanding Contribution in 2007 and 2008. She was honored the distinguished teacher of Ningxia in 2009 and the “Saishangyingcai” Award of Ningxia in 2013.
