SIZE OF MARKET: GoPro experienced rapid growth in recent years. Unit sales jumped from 2.3 million cameras in 2012 to 5.2 million in 2014. Overall GoPro reported a 21% share of the overall digital camera/camcorder market with claims on six of the top 10 selling devices in 2015. In early 2016, GoPro announced they were simplifying their product line in order to reduce retail confusion and simplify consumer choices.

WHO ARE WE TARGETING: This updated edition targets new and inexperienced users of the GoPro Hero product line. We assume our reader is a bit more tech–savvy and gadget–friendly than a typical Dummies reader and may be looking for more of a solutions guide versus a how–to reference.
