Metacognition in Chemistry Education Connecting Research and Practice ACS Symposium Series

Langue : Anglais

Coordonnateur : Daubenmire Patrick L.

Couverture de l’ouvrage Metacognition in Chemistry Education
Metacognition is a critical part of the learning process for any content area, any academic subject. It is an inseparable part of the cognitive tapestry that is our learning. Further spreading the word about metacognition - how it benefits learning and how it can be fostered in classroom environments - especially in chemistry education, is a primary goal of this book. This book offers new and sharper insights into how metacognition and its tasks can be stitched into the fabric of classroom instruction and curricula.
Patrick Daubenmire is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Loyola University Chicago. There he acts as the Undergraduate Program Director in the Department and leads a chemistry education research group that has pursued a variety of topics and projects, among them a focus on metacognition in the laboratory. He has been an active member of the American Chemical Society for 26 years. He has served on the Division of Chemical Education Program Committee and was elected in 2017 as an Alternate Councilor in the Division.
