Couverture de l’ouvrage Biopolymer-Based Metal Nanoparticle Chemistry for Sustainable Applications

Biopolymers are becoming an increasingly important area of research as traditional chemical feedstocks run low and concerns about environmental impacts increase. One area of particular interest is their use for more sustainable development of metal nanoparticles. Biopolymer-Based Metal Nanoparticle Chemistry for Sustainability Applications, Volume 2 reviews key uses of biopolymers and biopolymer-based metal nanoparticles for a range of key sustainability-focused applications.

After providing contextual examples of applications across the fields of food science, biomedicine and biochemistry, the book goes on to explore further sustainability-focused applications of Biopolymer-Based Metal Nanoparticles in such important areas as catalysis, environmental science, biosensing, and energy.

1. Application of Biopolymers in Bioplastics

Part 1: Biopolymer-based structures and the Food Industry2. Polysaccharides in the Food Industry3. Proteins in the Food Industry4. Food Packaging Applications of Biopolymer-Based Nanomaterials

Part 2: Biomedical and Biological Applications of Biopolymer-Based Nanomaterials5. Biomedical Applications of Biopolymer-Based Nanomaterials6. Biological Applications of Biopolymer-Based Nanomaterials

Part 3: Further sustainability Applications of Biopolymer-Based Metal Nanoparticles7. Catalytic Applications of Biopolymer-Based Metal Nanoparticles8. Environmental Applications of Biopolymer-Based Nanomaterials9. Biopolymer-Based Metal Nanoparticles for Biosensing10. Biopolymer-based Nanomaterials for Supercapacitor Applications11. Dr. Mahmoud Nasrollahzadeh received his B.Sc. (2003) in Applied Chemistry and M.Sc. (2007) in Organic Chemistry, before receiving his Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry from Bu-Ali Sina University, Iran, in 2012. He then moved to the Chemistry Department at the University of Qom as an Assistant Professor, and soon after was promoted to Associate Professor. His research interests are in the field of organic & organometallic chemistry, polymer-supported metal complexes, chemical biology, phytochemistry, nanobiotechnology, and application of biowastes in the preparation of nano(bio)materials. In 2016, he chaired a national conference and helped create the Center of Environmental Research, a National Centre of Excellence for the regional problems of dusts. Dr. Nasrollahzadeh is a member of the editorial board of several international journals and has published over 260 scientific papers, 46 reviews, 3 book chapters, 2 Elsevier books and 1 patent, as well as editing another book.
