Couverture de l’ouvrage Tropical and Sub-Tropical Reservoir Limnology in China

Reservoirs are specific aquatic ecosystems and have complex behaviors of both natural lakes and rivers, regulated significantly by their functions such as flood controlling, hydropower generation, irrigation and fishery. This volume offers a general description of reservoir limnology in tropical and subtropical China. It functions as a window opening to all the aquatic scientists with a main focus on reservoirs in southern China and at the same time also covering several important, large reservoirs such as the Three Gorge Reservoir and Danjiangko Reservoir. Topics discussed are zooplankton, phytoplankton and zoobenthos communities, cyanobateria, nutrient budget, sediments, biogeochemical cycling of mercury, fishery and eutrophication.

Part I  Biological Community.- 1 Diversity and Community Structure of Zooplankton in Reservoirs in South China.- 2 Species Richness and Community Structure of Pelagic Zooplankton in Tropical Reservoirs, Hainan Island.- 3 Seasonal Dynamics of Daphnia galeata Subject to Yearly Introductions of Bighead Carp in a Reservoir at the Edge of the Tropics (South China).- 4 Functional Classification of Phytoplankton Assemblage in Reservoirs of Guangdong Province, South China.- 5 Dynamics of Phytoplankton Community Structure in Relation to Environmental Factors in a Tropical Pumped Water Reservoir.- 6 Genetic Variation of Microcystis Strains from Reservoirs in Guangdong Province Based on Sequence Inferred from cpcBA-IGS Region.- 7 Cyanobacteria and Cyanotoxins in Reservoirs of South China.- 8 A Peridinium Bloom in a Large Narrow Impoundment, Huanglongdai Reservoir, Southern China.- 9 Spatial Distribution of Macrozoobenthos inLarge and Deep Impoundent: Xinanjiang Reservoir, Zhejiang Province.- 10 The Ecology of Zoobenthos in Reservoirs of China: A Minireview.- Part II  Environment.- 11 Biogeochemical Cycling of Mercury in Hongfeng Reservoir, Guizhou, China.- 12 Potential Regulation of Nutrients to Phytoplankton in the Context of Artificial Reservoir Operation: A Case in Tributaries of Three Gorges Reservoir, China.- 13 River Basin Environments and Ecological Succession of Danjiangkou Reservoir.- 14 Limnological Characteristics of Liuxihe Reservoir.- 15 Status of Reservoir Fisheries in China and Their Effects on Environments.- Part III Eutrophication.- 16 Water Supply and Eutrophication of Reservoirs in Guangdong Province, South China.- 17 Eutrophication of the Three Gorges Reservoir after the First Filling.- 18 Eutrophication of a Pumped Water Storage Reservoirs in South China.- 19 Nutrients and Phosphorus Release in Sediment in a Tropical Pumped Water Storage Reservoir.- 20 Control Strategies of Cyanobacteria and Their Effectiveness Evaluation in Four Reservoirs for Drinking Water.- 18 Eutrophication of a Pumped Water Storage Reservoirs in South China.- 19 Nutrients and Phosphorus Release in Sediment in a Tropical Pumped Water Storage Reservoir.- 20 Control Strategies of Cyanobacteria and Their Effectiveness Evaluation in Four Reservoirs for Drinking Water.- 18 Eutrophication of a Pumped Water Storage Reservoirs in South China.- 19 Nutrients and Phosphorus Release in Sediment in a Tropical Pumped Water Storage Reservoir.- 20 Control Strategies of Cyanobacteria and Their Effectiveness Evaluation in Four Reservoirs for Drinking Water.
