Langue : Anglais

Coordonnateurs : Jahre Magnus, Göhringer Diana, Millet Philippe

Couverture de l’ouvrage Towards Ubiquitous Low-power Image Processing Platforms

This book summarizes the key scientific outcomes of the Horizon 2020 research project TULIPP: Towards Ubiquitous Low-power Image Processing Platforms. The main focus lies on the development of high-performance, energy-efficient embedded systems for the growing range of increasingly complex image processing applications. The holistic TULIPP approach is described in the book, which addresses hardware platforms, programming tools and embedded operating systems. Several of the results are available as open-source hardware/software for the community. The results are evaluated with several use cases taken from real-world applications in key domains such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), robotics, space and medicine.

  • Discusses the development of high-performance, energy-efficient embedded systems for the growing range of increasingly complex image processing applications;
  • Covers the hardware architecture of embedded image processing systems, novel methods, tools and libraries for programming those systems as well as embedded operating systems to manage those systems;
  • Demonstrates results with several challenging applications, such as medical systems, robotics, drones and automotive.

Introduction and Motivation.- Hardware and Software Environments.- Use Cases.- The Tulipp Ecosystem.

Magnus Jahre, M. Tech. 2007, PhD 2010, has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, NTNU, since 2010. His current research interests are memory systems for multi-core architectures, heterogeneous computer systems, energy efficiency, computer architecture simulation, compilers, and system software.

Diana Göhringer, PhD 2011, is professor for adaptive dynamic systems at TU Dresden, Germany since 2017. Her research interests are reconfigurable computing, Multiprocessor Systems-on-Chip, Networks-on-Chip, Hardware-Software-codesign, Parallel Programming Models and Runtime Systems.

Philippe Millet, PhD 2005, Innovation Leader, Senior Research Engineer and Project Manager at Thales Research and Technology (TRT), High Computing Computing Lab. His main research activities focus on real-time integrated multi / many processor architectures, in hardware and software as well as on-chip integrated networks.
