Couverture de l’ouvrage Smart Transportation Systems 2021
This book gathers selected papers presented at the KES International Symposium on Smart Transportation Systems (KES-STS 2021). Modern transportation systems have undergone a rapid transformation in recent years, producing a range of technological innovations such as connected vehicles, self-driving cars, electric vehicles, Hyperloop, and even flying cars, and with them, fundamental changes in transport systems around the world. The book discusses current challenges, innovations, and breakthroughs in smart transportation systems, as well as transport infrastructure modelling, safety analysis, freeway operations, intersection analysis, and other related cutting-edge topics.
Scheduling Shore Power Usage at Port.- Security Analysis using Deep Learning in IoT and Intelligent Transport System.- Drone-Based Image Processing for Construction Site Safety, Transportation, and Progress Management.- Public Transport Passenger Count Forecasting in Pandemic Scenarios Using Regression TsetlinMachine. Case Study of Agder, Norway.- Travel time reliability analysis of arterial road based on Burr distribution.- Optimal Vehicle Performance Parameters selection for Electric Bus Routes.- Evaluation and optimization of driver’s training methodsin view of public awareness.- Optimization of pure electric bus scheduling based on immune optimization algorithm.
Xiaobo Qu is a full professor holding a chair of urban mobility systems, Chalmers University of Technology. Throughout his academic career, he has been endeavouring to practically improve transport safety, efficiency, equity, and sustainability through traffic flow modelling, network optimization, and most recently emerging technologies. In particular, his research has been applied to improvement of emergency services, operations of electric vehicles and connected automated vehicles, and management of vulnerable road users. He has authored or co-authored over 90 journal articles published at top-tier journals in the area of transport engineering, and he is a recipient of many prestigious awards. His research has been supported by Australian Research Council Discovery Programme, Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, Sydney Trains, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Swedish Innovation Agency Vinnova, and European Union. Xiaobo is now an associate editor/editorialboard member for IEEE Trans on Cybernetics, IEEE ITS Magazine, Journal of Transportation Engineering ASCE, Transportation Research Part A, Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, etc. He is a member of Academia Europaea-The Academy of Europe, and a fellow of European Academy of Sciences.

Dr. ZHEN got his Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has ten years of teaching experience and seven years of corporate experience. Dr. Lu ZHEN got his Ph.D. in 2008 from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. During 2008–2010, he made the post-doctoral research fellow in National University of Singapore. His research interests lie mainly in decision support systems; knowledge management; information systems; optimization and simulation; and port operations.
