Couverture de l’ouvrage Psat exam cram
The PSAT/NMSQT Exam Cram provides the most targeted, concise method of studying for the PSAT exam. The content offers students specific strategies for answering various question types, a suggested study schedule, a vocabulary list, some basic admissions counseling information, and some cognitive psychology explaining the differences between knowledge, skills, and abilities and how these are tested by the PSAT. The exam is offered by the College Board in conjunction with the National Merit Scholarship Organization and is given at the schools in the October to November timeframe to approximately two million students in the US. Students generally take the exam in their junior year, but can take it as early as their sophomore year. According to the College Board, students who study in advance receive higher scores than those who do not study. The exam is scored 20-80 points for each topic with the average junior year score at 49. PSAT scores are also used as eligibility for National Merit Scholarships. The exam has three parts: Critical Reading, Math Problem-solving Skills, and Writing Skills. The Exam Cram discusses each topic and is loaded with examples and practice questions. Two full practice exams containing all three topics areas complete the course of study. The popular Cram Sheet gives students an easy reference for last minute study.
