Proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Vibration Problems, 1st ed. 2021 ICOVP 2019 Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering Series

Langue : Anglais
Couverture de l’ouvrage Proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Vibration Problems
This book presents the select proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Vibration Problems (ICOVP 2019) held in Crete, Greece. The volume brings together contributions from researchers working on vibration related problems in a wide variety of engineering disciplines such as mechanical engineering, wind and earthquake engineering, nuclear engineering, aeronautics, robotics, and transport systems. The focus is on latest developments and cutting-edge methods in wave mechanics and vibrations, and includes theoretical, experimental, as well as applied studies. The range of topics and the up-to-date results covered in this volume make this interesting for students, researchers, and professionals alike.
1. Computational and analytical methods in vibration and wave mechanics problems.- 2. Dynamics of concrete and steel structures.- 3. Earthquake engineering, seismic vibrations and soil dynamics.- 4. Wave mechanics.- 5. Vibration problems associated with nuclear power reactors, aerospace and marine structures.- 6. Buckling and vibrations of beams, plates and shells.- 7. Uncertainty models in wave mechanics and vibrations
Dr. Evangelos Sapountzakis is Civil Engineer, Professor at the Institute of Structural Analysis and Antiseismic Research of the Structural Engineering Department of the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is also Vice Rector for Finance, Programming and Development of NTUA and Director of the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program “Structural Design and Analysis of Structures” of NTUA. He obtained his Diploma from NTUA in 1984, the MSc and DIC degrees (Concrete Structures) from Imperial College of Science and Technology of London in 1985 and the PhD degree from NTUA in 1991. He has extensive experience (30 years) in the design and analysis of bridge and other large scale structural projects, while since 1996 he has provided consultancy services in various structural and transportation large scale Civil Engineering projects. Apart from NTUA, he is also a Professor of Structural Analysis at the School of Corps of Engineers of the HellenicArmy since 1986 and a member of the Coactive Educational Staff of the Hellenic Open University. His published research work comprises 123 original papers published in international journals and 172 papers published in international conference proceedings. He is the author of 12 Chapters in books published by International Publishing Companies, 5 Technical Reports, 4 educational books and co-author of 3 educational books. He is the editor of 4 Books or Conference Proceedings. He has participated in 15 financially supported research projects, while in 11 of them as the Principal Investigator. His research work has received intentional recognition, since he is Honorary Editor, Editor-in-Chief, Academic Editor, Regional Editor, Associate Editor of international journals, member of the editorial board of 23 international journals, member of 50 scientific advisory committees of international conferences, while more than 2100 citations have been noticed in international literature (h-index=2
