Integrated Resource Strategic Planning and Power Demand-Side Management, 2013 Power Systems Series

Langue : Anglais
Couverture de l’ouvrage Integrated Resource Strategic Planning and Power Demand-Side Management

Integrated Resource Strategic Planning and Power Demand-Side Management elaborates two important methods - Integrated Resource Strategic Planning (IRSP) and Demand Side Management (DSM) - in terms of methodology modeling, case studies and lessons learned. This book introduces a prospective and realistic theory of the IRSP method and includes typical best practices of DSM for energy conservation and emission reduction in different countries. It can help energy providers and governmental decision-makers formulate policies and make plans for energy conservation and emission reduction, and can help power consumers reduce costs and participate in DSM projects.

Zhaoguang Hu is the vice president and chief energy specialist at the State Grid Energy Research Institute, and the head of the Power Supply and Demand Research Laboratory in China.

Basic Theory of Integrated Resource Strategic Planning (IRSP).- Basic Theory of Demand-side Management (DSM).- The Director of Demand-side Management (DSM) -- Government.- The Implementers of Demand-side Management (DSM) ---Power Grid Enterprises.- The Backbone of DSM Implementation — Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).- The Important Participants in Demand-side Management (DSM) ---Power Consumers.- The Prospects of Demand-side Management (DSM).- Introduction to a Demand-side Management (DSM) Laboratory.

Dr. Zhaoguang HU is the vice president and chief energy specialist at the State Grid Energy Research Institute (former State Power Economic Research Institute) as well as the head of the Power Supply and Demand Research Laboratory. He is the director of Power Economic Committee of CSEE (Chinese Society of Electric Engineering). He is an honorary professor at North-China Electric University and Beijing Jiaotong University. He is a chief editor of Energy Technology and Economics (Chinese). His main areas of interest are: low-carbon energy, energy economy, energy efficiency and demand-side management (DSM), smart grid, and policy study on the above areas. Dr. Hu was one of the main contributors of the China’s DSM white paper 2007. From 2004 to 2007, many of his suggestions on DSM policy have been accepted by the Chinese government, including China’s DSM regulation and the revised Energy Conservation Law. He was a team leader of the World Bank’s project, “DSM in China’s Restructured Power Industry – How Regulation and Policy Can Deliver DSM Benefits to a Growing Economy and a Changing Power System,” in 2004.
The ISRP theory, intended for smooth DSM in the context of separation of power plants and power grids, can be a reference for energy conservation and emission reduction Collects typical best practices of DSM in different countries in roles of government departments, power enterprises, energy service companies and power consumers Introduces China’s efforts in energy conservation, DSM, and etc The ISRP theory& framework, and the DSM policy proposal have been included in China’s first DSM white book and the “Measures for DSM Administration” released by the Chinese government
