Information and communication technologies: : considerations of current practice for teachers and teacher educators

Langue : Anglais

Auteurs :

The question of whether technology has lived up to its potential in educational settings has been debated for decades. This volume seeks to bring new perspectives to bear on that question. It aims to highlight critical issues that teachers, teacher educators, researchers and policy makers must grapple with in their efforts to realize the educational potential of information and communication technologies. It is devoted to classroom teachers and teacher educators who are uniquely situated to close the gap between the reality and the promise of information and communication technology in education. Chapters include such topics as learning from current research related to ICT in education, the multiple and complex digital divides that impact students and teachers, and promising technology related professional development practices.
