Hot Stamping of Ultra High-Strength Steels, 1st ed. 2019 From a Technological and Business Perspective

Langue : Anglais

Coordonnateur : Billur Eren

Couverture de l’ouvrage Hot Stamping of Ultra High-Strength Steels

Providing a comprehensive overview of hot stamping (also known as ?press hardening?), this book examines all essential aspects of this innovative metal forming method, and explores its various uses. It investigates hot stamping from both technological and business perspectives, and outlines potential future developments. Individual chapters explore topics such as the history of hot stamping, the state of the art, materials and processes employed, and how hot stamping is currently being used in the automotive industry to create ultra-high-strength steel components. Drawing on experience and expertise gathered from academia and industry worldwide, the book offers an accessible resource for a broad readership including students, researchers, vehicle manufacturers and metal forming companies.

Introduction.- Metallurgy of Steels.- History and Future Outlook of Hot Stamping.- Blank Materials.- A Hot Stamping Line.- Hot Stamping Dies.- Post Forming Operations.- Tailored Properties.- Hot Tube Forming.- Simulation/Analysis of Hot Stamping.- Economics of Hot Stamping.
After studying in Baskent University and Virginia Commonwealth University, Eren Billur graduated and received his PhD in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University in 2013. As a successful researcher at Center for Precision Forming, he was responsible for the coordination of sheet forming research. His focus is set on comprehensive topics like material characterization, sheet metal forming processes and finite element simulations. Dr. Billur's present positions as Technical Manager at Billur Makine and Assistant Professor of Automotive Engineering at Atilim University, both in Ankara, Turkey, are ideal endorsements that keep an overview on science and industry.
Explores the history, current status, and future of the innovative metal forming method “hot stamping” Examines hot stamping from both technological and business perspectives Provides an accessible resource for students and researchers, as well as professionals working in vehicle manufacturing
