High damping materials II (Key engineeri ng materials, Vol. 319)

Langue : Anglais

Auteurs :

In modern society, the demand for means of suppressing the vibration of machine parts and tools is increasing, due to the need to solve noise problems and to improve the accuracy of mechanical systems. The most direct way of coping with such vibration problems is to use high damping materials to make the critical parts. The 2nd International Symposium on High Damping Materials was held with the aim of furthering the development of new high damping materials and their application in a wide range of fields. The collected papers, presented here, cover the topics of: shape memory alloys, alloys, metallic glasses, ceramics and composites and applications and measuring technique. The wealth of new ideas contained within these pages will make this work essential reading matter for anyone with a vibration problem to solve.
