Liqun Wei, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, has successively acted as Member of the Party Group and Secretary-General at the State Planning Commission, Deputy Director of the Office of the Central Leading Group on Financial and Economic Affairs of the CPC, Director of the Research Office of the State Council and Party Secretary of the Chinese Academy of Governance. He was Member and Deputy Chairman of the Culture, History and Learning Committee of the Eleventh Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He was Member of the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Central Committees of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He has participated in or led the work to draft a large number of important documents of the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council as well as important speeches of leaders. He has led many significant research projects and made a large batch of scientific research and political consulting achievements. He has successively worked as Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Chinese Academy of Governance, and China Center for International Economic Exchanges.
He was appointed to serve as Dean of the China Academy of Social Management and the School of Sociology of Beijing Normal University, respectively, in October 2010 and January 2015. Now, he holds an additional portfolio of external positions: Member of the National Expert Consulting Committee for Philosophic and Social Science Studies, Leader of the applied economics group of the National Social Science Fund, Member of the Consulting Committee for the Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project of the CPC Central Committee.
