Couverture de l’ouvrage Classical mechanics: Applied mechanics and mechatronics
This is the first volume of three, devoted to Mechanics. This book contains classical mechanics problems including kinematics and statics. It is recommended as a supplementary textbook for undergraduate and graduate students from mechanical and civil engineering, as well as for physical scientists and engineers. It contains a basic introduction to classical mechanics, including fundamental principles, statics, and the geometry of masses, as well as thorough discussion on kinematics.
Preface.- 1. Fundamental Principles of Mechanics.- 2. Statics.- 3. Geometry of Masses.- 4. Kinematics of a Particle and Introduction to Kinematics of Rigid Bodies.- 5. Kinematics of a Rigid Body and Composite Motion of a Point.- 6. Kinematics of a Deformable Body.
Jan Awrejcewicz is the 2011 winner of the Humboldt Prize. This award is granted from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany. The award is based on a reasearcher's entire achievements to date, whose fundamental discoveries, new theories or insights have had significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in the future. Prof. Awrejcewicz is also the main author of “Nonsmooth Dynamics of Contacting Thermoelastic Bodies”, © 2009, Springer (AMMA v. 16), 978-0-387-09562-0. He is also the sole editor of “Modeling, Simulation and Control of Nonlinear Engineering Dynamical Systems”, © 2009 Springer, 978-1-4020-8777-6.

Provides the reader with a step-by-step introduction to the material, enabling them to learn quickly

Makes a bridge between theoretical (physics) and applied (engineering) classical mechanics

Contains numerous examples supported by color figures, illustrating various theoretical concepts
