7th world congress on genetics applied to livestock production (Montpellier, France - august 19-23 2002) cd-rom

The World Congress on Genetics Applied to Livestock Production is organised every 4 years and reunites researchers working on the major species of agronomic interest. It is a way to evaluate the methodological progress made in animal genetics, the state of knowledge concerning genetic diversity and selection in livestock species. Amongst the strong points at this 7th congress were the use of molecular genetic tools for genetic improvement, the international evaluation of animals kept for breeding, but also the perspectives in genetic improvement of animal populations in developing countries.
